Alaska Medical Assistance offers a comprehensive schedule of training classes. In addition to classes held in locations throughout the state of Alaska, classes are also being offered in flexible formats, such as teleconferences and webcasts. Classes are divided into two categories: introductory classes and in-depth classes. The introductory classes, offered as a series over three days, cover a variety of topics applicable to all providers. The in-depth courses are designed as a more comprehensive review of program rules specific to various provider types and topics impacting all providers.

These training classes are available at no cost as they are sponsored by and under contract with the State of Alaska, Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Health Care Services. We encourage the attendance of billers, direct practitioners / health care providers, office managers, admitting or front-desk staff, utilization review staff, case management staff, or other official personnel.

Registering for Classes

Because of limited space, you are encouraged to register early; registration for each class will close 3 days prior to the date of the class. Only registered attendees (with a confirmed registration) are guaranteed a seat; those without a confirmed registration may be turned away. If registration requests exceed the available seats, additional sessions may be offered.

After your registration is received and processed by Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., you will receive a confirmation of the classes in which you are enrolled.
